I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2019 Q8 4ND: 07 Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Route: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
Distance: 316 km
Hotel: Serkirin Mary Angkor Villa Hotel, Siem Reap


07:00 - Simple breakfast in the hotel room. No half-boiled eggs today as the power was too weak to use the kettle to boil water.
07:15 - Checked out and had photo shots in the park by the river.

07:30 - Drove out of Phnom Penh towards Siem Reap in a nice sunny weather. Road condition is good all the way to Siem Reap.

09:30 - Refuelled and coffee break at Tela Depot in Baray.
10:45 - Passed through Kampong Thom on the way to Siem Reap

13:30 - Arrived Siem Reap in heavy traffic. Our Garmin and Map GPS were jammed on entering Siem Reap town, the venue for the BMW Motorad Bike Week. We drove direct to Muslim Kitchen for lunch of a Morning Glory Fish dish with rice.

15:15 - Sent the dirty Bigfoot to Sunny Auto Car Wash, a Japanese owned.

13:45 - Checked in Serkirin Mary Angkor Villa for USD15/night and performed our solat jamak.

17:15 - Drove to the thatched huts restaurant at Tonle Sap lake to watch the beautiful sunset. It was already late to drive to the viewpoint up the hill as we might miss the sunset when we reach there.

17:45 - Drove to the ferry terminal and visited the fishing village on stilts. Watched the boats ferrying back tourist to the jetty after completing their sunset tour of Tonle Sap.

18:00 - Drove back to the hotel in the dark via narrow busy streets.
18:30 - Walked through the walking streets and had an hour of foot massage next to Reaksay Hotel.
19:30 - Bought a few baggy pants at the night market.

20:00 - As we were not very hungry, had banana pancakes for dinner.
20:30 - Met some Malaysian bikers who planned to enter Vietnam with their bikes.
