My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2019 Q8 4ND : 02 Hatyai - Chumphon

“The difference between perseverance and obstinacy is that one comes from a strong will, and the other from a strong won’t...” - Henry Ward Beecher

(A cosy R&R area for a cup of hot coffee at Route 41)

Day 02: 02 Dec 2019 (Monday)
Route: Hat Yai - Chumphon
Distance: 482 km
Hotel: Nana Buri Hotel, Chumphon

07:30 - Breakfast nasi dagang and roti canai at Khaled Restaurant. Delicious as always.

(Additional roti canai after a plate of nasi dagang)

08:30 - Drove leisurely towards Chumphon in a nice cool weather.
10:00 - Coffee break at Route 41. Met Mubarak and Yuziana with their two young daughters. They were heading towards north of Thailand and planning to enter Laos with their car.

(Our Toyota Hi-Lux for the Kembara trip)
(A new attraction in the making at Route 41)
(The young bro Mubarak on a road trip too)

12:00 - Lunch and solat break at Thung Son PTT food court. The soup daging still tastes as good.

(A few halal restaurants at the Thung Son food-court)
(A simple lunch of sambal keli and sup daging with ulam)

17.15 - Arrived in Chumphon in the heavy rain. Passed a few road blocks and saw three major accidents on the slippery road along the way.
17:30 - Checked-in Nana Buri Hotel for THB800/night with breakfast. The room was spaciously comfortable but the lighting was bad for the eyes.

(Dark clouds over the town of Chumphon)

(Our favorite lodging in Chumphon)
(A clean and spacious room)

18:00 - Rested in the hotel room while hubby changed some foreign currencies at a bank in the supermarket. Getting rid of small denominations of old Sterling Pounds.

(Hotel lobby of Nana Buri Hotel)

19:00 - Walked to Restaurant Fareeda but it was closed. Looks like it was closed for good.
19:15 - Alternative dinner of shrimp and black pepper burgers from 7-eleven by the sidewalk.

(Eating our burgers by the sidewalk)

19:30 - An hour of strong foot massage at Wansuk Reflexology before we walked back to the hotel for a good night sleep.
