We had porridge and cakoi breakfast again this morning. The weather was extra chilly and Pai was covered with thick fog. We walked in the mist, and had our windbreakers to protect us from the cold wind.

The weather was cool and misty when we started ascending the thousand corners. We made brief stops at Doi Kio Lom and Phang Ma Pha viewpoints.

Ban Rak Thai sits on a shore of a beautiful lake. It is nestled in the lush green valley surrounded by hills and tea plantations. The villagers are descendants of KMT soldiers from China. Ban Rak Thai used to be a sleepy Chinese village because of its remote location near the Myanmar border. But now it has become heavily-touristed. There was a large crowd when we arrived. We had to park opposite of the lake as all parking areas near the shopping streets were full.
