My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Thailand Borders 17: Kanchanaburi

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams..." - Eleanor Roosevelt

(Crispy roti canai at Tak Malay Cafe)

Day 17: Tuesday, 26 Nov 2024
Route: Mae Sot - Kanchanaburi
Distance: 460 km (7:54)
Hotel: Hop Inn Kanchanaburi

We had breakfast in the room.

Checked out and claimed our deposit of THB500. Drove to Mae Sot Border Check-point then to Rim Moei Market. The market sells many local products from both Thailand and Myanmar. Bought a few varieties of soaps from one of the stalls. Photo opprtunity at the Moei River Western Most Viewpoint signage.

Drove out of Mae Sot on route 12 heading towards Tak. In Tak, we visited the Malay Cafe and had crispy roti canai and tasty chicken curry for brunch. The cafe is owned by Wan, a young Malay guy from Dengkil. Met three young bikers heading to the highlands of Phu Thab Berk.

Drove on route 1 towards Kanchanaburi and stopped at Aminyan Halal restaurant in Nakhon Sawan. Had our lunch of nasi goreng with onion beef and omellete. After lunch we walked to the Pakistan Mosque about 300 m from the halal restaurant and performed our jamak prayers.

From Nakhon Sawan we drove direct to Kanchanaburi and reached Hop Inn hotel around 7.45 pm. We booked for two nights at RM85/night. We had buns, sliced bread and coffee for dinner in the room.
