My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Thailand Borders 02: Tha Sae

"It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light... - Aristotle

(Pok Dogol at Khun Sarai Cafe)

Day 02: Monday, 11 Nov 2024
Route: Hat Yai - Tha Sae
Distance: 487 km (6:46)
Hotel: Jumbo House, Tha Sae

Breakfast with Nasi dagang and Roti Canai at Khalid Restaurant. By 7.00 am we checked out and drove north-bound towards Chumphon.

Had a brief photo stop at Route 41. Met a couple of Malay bikers having their breakfast at the halal eatery. We noticed that there were no new designs t-shirts at the souvenir shop, so we did not buy any from there.

By 11.00 am we were already in Thung Son for an early lunch. There is only one halal eatery left at the PTT R&R. There used to be three in the older days. Tried to look for the Esso surau along the way but unable to locate the petrol station as Bangchak is now the new name for Esso. We must have missed the placed because of the change in signage.

Around 4.30 pm stopped for prayer break and early dinner of Nasi Telur, soup and ulam2 at Khun Sarai R&R.

Drove to Tha Sae PTT R&R, located about 20 km from Khun Sarai and checked in Jumbo House at RM70/night.
