My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Day 14: 6 Dec 2017 (Wednesday)
Route: Siem Reap – Poi Pet/Arayanprathet - Sa Kaeo - Prachin Buri
Distance: 262 km
Hotel: JJ Apartment, Prachin Buri

Today we travelled to the Cambodia/Thailand border in Poi Pet. The border was busy with lorries, buses and commuters travelling between the two countries.

(Beautiful paintings of the Angkor Wat)
(Riding out of Siem Reap)

Border crossing was smooth at both borders. Paid baht200/person at Poi Pet Cambodia border for passport stamping. No fee was paid at Aranyaprathet Thailand border. At the Thailand Immigration, I had to join the pedestrians for passport stamping. There was quite a large crowd of locals and foreigners entering Thailand this time of the year.

From the border we rode on Highway 33 and stopped at SK Halal Steak House for Lunch and prayers. The R&R area has nice ambiance and tidy dining set up complete with wash room amenities and Muslim praying area. The food is tasty and the service is fast.

We continued riding but on the way we had to stop several times to pump the front tyre as the air pressure was reducing slowly. Stopped at one tyre shop at Kabin Buri to repair a puncture caused by a nail. Continued riding towards Lop Buri but decided to detour to Prachin Buri to have the tyre checked. The indicator for the tyre pressure was still giving warning messages.

(Very helpful Kawasaki staff)

Visited Kawasaki Big Bike Showroom in Prachin Buri. Instead of replacing the tyre, the Kawasaki mechanics helped to get the tyre patched. It cost Baht500 with some tips for their kindness to offer assistance, even way after their working hours.

As it was already dark, decided to stay a night in JJ Apartment which cost only Baht450/night. Tonight we went for an hour of foot massage somewhere in town to relax our tired muscles.
