This morning after fajr prayers, the male jemaah had the opportunity to visit the cemetery at Jannat al Baqi also known as Baqi al Gharqad named after the al Gharqad tree, the Arabian boxthorn or desert thorn. This cemetery is the oldest and first Islamic cemetery in the city of Medina. Jannat al Baqi is one of the two historically important holy cemeteries to Muslims. This is because many of the prophet Muhammad relatives and companions are buried here. The tomb of Imam Malik is also located in Jannat al-Baqi.
We had breakfast a little later after the men came back from their visit of Baqi.
Rested the rest of the morning while waiting for Jumaat prayers. We were in the mosque two hours earlier to avoid the crowd. I was lucky to have a place on the carpeted area in the crowded ladies prayer hall.
We took a nap for the rest of the afternoon. It was raining heavily with thunderstorms right after Isya' prayers. Many were caught in the heavy rain. Tonight we packed our luggage as tomorrow our big luggage had to be outside the room as early as 7.00 am in the morning.
