My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Day 05: Friday, 14 March 2025
Route: Pattani - Hatyai
Distance: 150 km

By 11.30 am we checked-out and drove direct to Hatyai. Checked in Hatyai Meridien Hotel at Rm75/night. Performed solat jamak Zohor/Asar in the hotel room before we drove to Kin Money Changer to change some Baht.

(Beautiful serene beaches along the route)

In the afternoon we drove around and visited several mosque in Hatyai. First stop was at Masjid Din Al Islam at Chokesaman Road in Hat Yai. There's a small parking area for visitors so we parked by the narrow roadside. Unfortunately, the mosque was undergoing some renovation works and was closed. Maybe next time we would have the opportunity to pray in this mosque.

(Masjid Din Al-Islam is under construction)

The Masjid Jamiul Islam Hat Yai is located at Rimmueng Road in Hat Yai. This mosque is quite a distance from the city centre. The mosque was empty but it looked like there's iftar activities for the local community.

(Quite a distance from our hotel)

Visited Masjid Yabalus Salam at Koi Suanti in Hat Yai. It is an active mosque supporting the local Muslim community. The mosque offers home stay facilities. Tarawih prayers are held nightly in the month of Ramadhan. However, the iftar is for men only.

Visited Masjid Sulu Hutdi in Khuan Lang, Hat Yai. It is quite a large mosque with ample parking available. We planned to perform our Subuh prayers here tomorrow morning.

We made a brief stop at Masjid Nurut Taqwa in Khuan Lang, Hat Yai. It is a busy mosque at a busy market. The Nurut Taqwa cemetery is across the road opposite the mosque. We bought some mixed fruit juice laichi-kang and  popia from the roadside stalls for iftar.

We had Iftar and solat jamak Maghrib/Isya in the hotel. By 7.30 pm drove to Masjid Nurruddin Hatyai. We performed our tarawih prayers here. We call this mosque the Green Mosque of Hat Yai. We had always passed this mosque every time we entered Hat Yai from Sadao and we have also done our tarawih prayers here before. Tonight the mosque looked picturesque against the Ramadhan full moon.

(Full house for terawih prayers)

(Stacks of rice, infaq for the needy)

After terawih we drove to town centre and parked near Golden Crown hotel and walked to Lee Gardens Night market for Nasi Lemak dinner. Had an hour of foot massage at 4 Seasons located in front of Golden Crown Hotel before we drove back to our hotel.
