About Me

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I am married to my loving husband for more than 45 years now. I am a mother to 3 beautiful children, until years ago when I lost my youngest son. Since then my life is forever altered but yet unbroken....

My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Koh Samui Wet Trip: 06 Kuala Lumpur

"I'm not tired of challenges. I’m tired of people challenging me for nothing...” — Ces Peta

(Lunch at Ida Mee Udang, Sungai Dua)

Day 06: Friday, 29 September 2023
Route: Hat Yai - KL
Distance: 530 km

We walked to Restoran Maliam for roti telur and nasi lemak breakfast. Earlier we planned to stay a night in Pattani and exit Thailand via Sungai Kolok. We will cross the border today instead to avoid the crowd and the traffic jam tomorrow when everyone will be heading out at the same time.

(Roti telur for breakfast)
(Driving out of Hatyai on a cloudy day)

By 8.30 am we checked out and headed to the border. Stopped at Danok to buy some tidbits to bring home. There was no crowd at the border. The clearance process was smooth on both sides. Paid B30 at the Thai immigration counter.

(A brief stop in Danok)
(Fast and efficient border clearance)

Refuelled at Petronas Changlun then drove on PLUS highway towards south. Stopped at Ida Mee Udang Restoran at Sungai Dua for lunch. We ordered Mee Goreng Udang and Nasi Goreng Ketam. Both dishes were tasty.

(The viral Mee Udang restaurant)
(Tasty lunch for hungry tummies)

It was raining dogs and cats àlong the way. We made a stop at Taiping Hentian Sebelah for Zohor/Asar prayers. We performed our Magrib/Isya solat at Ulu Bernam R&R and had Mee Kari for dinner.

(The surau at Hentian Sebelah Taiping)
(Rainy and misty day)
(Delicious mee kari and Ulu Bernam R&R)

From Ulu Bernam we drove direct and reached our Bidara house around 9.30 pm.

Alhamdulillah...

(Home sweet home)
