My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2017 UK Trip: 14 Rydal Mount, England - The home of the poet William Wordsworth...

"Travel often. Getting lost will help you find yourself..."

(Kirkstone Pass Inn on the mountainous road)

Date: 11 May 2017 (Thursday)
Route: Gretna Green – Rydal Mount
Distance: 56 miles - 1 hr 2 min

Today we are visiting the home of a famous poet, William Wordsworth, my favorite.

(Heading towards Lake District and Rydal Mount)
(The beginning of an adventurous road trip)

The Lake District is a mountainous region in North West England. A popular holiday destination, it is famous for its lakes, forests and mountains and its associations with the early 19th century writings of William Wordsworth and the other Lake Poets.

(A picnic spot in Lake District)
(A place for walking, hiking, camping and swimming)
(A perfect day for boating and sailing)
(One of the many resorts at Lake District)

It is located entirely within the county of Cumbria, and all the land in England higher than 910 m above sea level lies within the National Park, including Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. It also contains the deepest and longest bodies of water in England, respectively Wast Water and Windermere.

(Driving through the woods to the mountain)
(Panoramic view of the natural scenic surrounding)
(Wandering alone on the mountain path)
(A small town at Rydal Mount)

(Quiet and peaceful environment)
(An equal to Doi Inthanon in Thailand?)

Rydal Mount is a house in the small village of Rydal, near Ambleside in the English Lake District. It is best known as the home of the poet William Wordsworth from 1813 to his death in 1850. It is currently operated as a writer's home museum.

(The way to a poet's home, garden and tea shop)
(A museum open to visitors)
(William Wordsworth home for 37 years)
(Records of the history of Rydal Hall)
(Riding out of Rydal Mount using different route)
