Day 09: 01 September 2025 (Monday)
Flight: OD 671 KMG 0300/ KUL 0700
Route: Kunming - KL
The ticking of the clock at midnight marked a precious moment. Amid rolling suitcases, overlapping chatter, and the steady cadence of public address announcements, we paused in silent prayer at the departure hall. This was how we welcomed our 46th year of marriage, unplanned, unceremonious, yet deeply meaningful. It has been a generous journey. We have shared countless experiences, weathered seasons of change, and been blessed with two children and five grandchildren - we asked for nothing more.
Check-in was swift, and we moved quickly toward the departure lounge, eager to sit and give our weary legs a moment of rest. The straight-backed chairs, however, offered little comfort after a long day of travel. Still, there was a quiet contentment in simply being there side by side, waiting for the next chapter to unfold.
Our flight was slightly delayed, stretching the pause just a little longer. Time moved differently in that space between destinations. After the in-flight meal was served, fatigue finally overcame us. We drifted into a short, grateful nap neither fully asleep nor fully awake, lulled by the hum of the aircraft and the familiarity of shared silence. Before long, the descent began, gently returning us to the world below.
Landed in KLIA around 7.15 am. Had breakfast at the food court before we took the Grab back home. We reached our home sweet home safely at 11.00 am.
Feeling exhausted, but contented. Alhamdulillah...
