My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2018 Bulgaria Trip: 03 Sofia to Istanbul...

“We all have blessings in our lives. Take the time to appreciate yours..”

(Senior citizens with the Bulgarian flags)

Day 03: 02 May 2018 (Wednesday)
Route: Sofia - Istanbul
Hotel: Viva Deluxe Hotel, Istanbul

This morning we had breakfast in a Pizza Restaurant next to our hotel.

After breakfast we went for a walk to Lion Square and later spent the rest of the morning in the room before we checked-out around 10:30 am. We walked leisurely to the Central Station where we boarded the coach to Istanbul at noon.

(A morning stroll to the Lion Bridge)
(Some remnants of the Roman ruins)
(Rivers criss-crossing the city)
(One of the main streets of the city)

The coach made a few stops on the way. We cleared border crossing by 5.30 pm and made a final comfort stop at one R&R at 7.30 pm before we proceeded to Istanbul. We reached Istanbul around 8.30 pm and took a taxi to Viva Deluxe Hotel in Istanbul.

(Waiting for our noon bus at the Central Station)
(Driving out of town)
(Roadworks caused a massive traffic jam)
(Visiting the Duty Free Shop at the border)
(Safely crossing the border into Turkey)
(A final stop at one of the R&R)
(Arriving in Istanbul at dusk)

Tonight we had dinner at Nur Muhammad Malaysian Restaurant, a walking distance away from our hotel. As our flight back to KL was scheduled for tomorrow night, we had ample time to visit the Spice and Grand Bazaar and walked to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia for photo shots.
