My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2016 Q5 4NR Day 18 : Mae Hong Son - Mae Sariang - Mae Sot

Day 18: Wednesday, 14 Dec 2016
Route: Mae Hong Son – Mae Sariang - Mae Sot
Distance: 396 km
Hotel: Suan Darb Porn Resort

We visited the Chamber of Commerce before we started riding out of Mae Hong Son through the winding road on Route 108 along the Namtok Mae Surin National Park. The weather was cool and sunny and the ride was smooth. On the way we stopped at a small town of Khun Yuam for refuelling and a short rest.

We arrived in Mae Sariang just in time for lunch at a Muslim Restaurant near the Masjid Jameatulislam. We rode on towards Mae Sot passing many more National Parks. The Route 105 is in excellent condition except for a 5 km stretch of unpaved road still under massive repair works, dusty and dangerously slippery.

We passed many road blocks as the Route 105 runs along the Myanmar border all the way from Mae Sariang to Mae Sot. We arrived at Mae Sot around 5:30 pm and checked in Suan Darb Porn Resort for Baht700/night.

We had dinner at a Muslim Restaurant in town. Tonight while drinking hot coffee, the gang sat together to have a post-mortem review on the trip so far and candidly discussed on future trips. Tomorrow Pok Deng and family will split ways at Tak to travel westwards towards Phetchabun.
