My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 25 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

(Arriving in Foz De Iguazu at dusk)

This morning we were transferred to Cuzco Airport for our domestic flight. We boarded the 07:25 flight LA2010 to Lima. Arrived in Lima at 09:00 and transited for almost 3 hours before we boarded the 12:35 flight LA2443 to Foz De Iguazu. Arrived Foz De Iguazu about 19:30. Our guide Mr. Marcus and the driver were already waiting for us.

Day 10: Wednesday, 25 Oct 2017
Route: Foz De Iguazu - Puerto Iguazu - Foz De Iguazu
Hotel: Foz De Iguazu Wish Resort Hotel, Brazil

(Beautiful view of the resort)
(Early breakfast before the trip)
(Varieties of pastries and bread)
(Cloudy morning in Foz De Iguazu)

This morning we travelled to Puerto Iguazu to visit Iguazu National Park on the Argentina side. Border crossing was simple. We waited in the bus while the guide arranged for the stamping of passports. We could view the Iguazu Falls, one of the wonders of the world, bordering two countries, Brazil and Argentina.

(Heavy rain at the Argentina border)
(Ticket counter to the waterfalls)
(Tickets to enter Iguazu National Park)
(Walking along the Green Trail in the heavy rain)
(Boarding the Eco-train to the waterfalls)

The Iguaçu National Park is a World Heritage property located in the State of Paraná, in southern Brazil, adjacent to the Iguazú National Park, also a World Heritage property in Argentina. Both properties, together with some protected areas, are contiguous major remnants of the interior Atlantic Forest, once a much larger forest area, along the junction of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers where Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil converge. We explored the Lower and Upper Circuit from a few panoramic viewpoints.

(Soaking wet at the viewpoint)
(The magnificent Iguazu Waterfalls)
(The Devil's Throat)

We had to board the Eco-train to The Devil's Throat, the highest point of the water falls. Even though it was raining very heavily and the water was murky like ‘teh tarik’, it is very deserving of the title, the biggest waterfalls in the world.

(Rain coats were on sale)
(Still raining at the Bird Park)
(Another beautiful viewpoint along the trails)
(The waterfalls murky flows)
(A wooden pathway above the waterfalls)
(Visiting the Brazilian side of the waterfalls)
(The Brazilian Iguazu National Park)
(Still as huge and magnificent)
(One of the Natural Wonders of the World)
(Another spectacular view of the falls)
(Impressive and majestic Iguazu Waterfalls)
(Another wooden walkway to the Devil's Throat)

We also visited Iguazu National Park on the Brazil side. Border crossing here was even simpler. We walked along the Cataratas Trail with a good view of the magnificent waterfalls. It was raining intermittently and we were soaked to the skin at the end of the tour.

We overnight in Foz De Iguazu Wish Resort Hotel, Brazil.

Day 11: Thursday, 26 Oct 2017
Route: Foz De Iguazu - Rio de Janeiro
Hotel: Rio de Janeiro Americas Copacabana Hotel, Brazil

(A rest area of the resort)
(Souvenirs and handicraft centre)
(Vibrant coloured Brazilian dolls on display)
(Foz Iguazu International Airport)

After breakfast we checked out and boarded the bus to the airport. On the way we stopped at Artesanato and Chocolate Caseiro, a visitor centre where handicrafts, souvenirs and local-made chocolates are sold, at premium prices of course.
